PHILOSOPHY AND COMMITMENT OF OUR SCHOOL

 Fillmore Christian Academy is a Christian-oriented academic elementary and middle school established to provide our prospective students the unique opportunity of an education that stresses academic excellence and Christian fulfillment.  Our philosophical approach to education is based on the principles of a Christian world view.  Primarily, that Christ came to save us from sin, to free us from its bondage and  provide us the way to a true relationship with God.  It is through this relationship that we aspire to true knowledge, self-governance and proper social interaction. II Tim. 3:16-17, Phil. 4-6.   We are not a school which isolates itself from the rest of the world, but rather provides a respite from it whereby our students can truly come to know themselves first and to understand their Christian calling.  Too many private Christian schools and home schools try to isolate themselves from the influences of this world. On the other hand, we think it is being short-sighted to presume that Christian children should be thrown into the lion's den prematurely.  We all are aware that there are those children who will do well no matter the circumstances they're in, but there are a far greater number of children who could hold their own in today's society if they were given but half a chance armed with some training.  Our school provides the Christian training to help children cope with the myriad social problems that will face them in due time.  Our curriculum encompasses Christian social ethics, moral issues as they relate to the Christian, and education in the basics of human understanding, i.e.; mathematics, science, reading, writing, philosophy (apologetics) and study of the classic works.  

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

We strive to teach and impart by example to each student the value of self-governance.  In this age of egocentricity, we teach the Biblical message of denial of self and putting others before yourself.  This is a virtuous path and a return to old-fashioned values and manners!

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Our administrative and teaching staffs are united in the common goal of helping each student fulfill their academic potential.  Our program is based upon meaningful experiences in every subject with primary emphasis given to fundamentals.  Fundamentals being the ability to read intelligently, compute accurately, write legibly and spell correctly.
