I have had the privilege of teaching the fifth and sixth grades for the past nine years. My husband, Mickey, is a special ed teacher in Oxnard. We have two children, Whitney who is a senior at Vanguard University, and Zach, a high school senior at Moorpark High. I attended Ventura College, Lubbock Christian University and graduated from Sunset Bible Institute, Lubbock, Texas (Deaf and Biblical Studies). Our family ministered to the deaf and hard-of-hearing in Mexico City, Mexico, for almost eight years. We served the Fillmore Church of Christ for ten years where Mickey was the senior minister and I was the children's ministry director. Along the way, I have been a Spanish medical interpreter and have taught Sign Language and Spanish courses as well.
Some fun things we learn over the course of the year are Sign Language, Spanish, Latin American/ cultural studies, and music.
God has always blessed me to serve in many ways. Now, He has given me the responsibility of instructing your children in many things, but especially on the knowledge and the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
